Men's Hoops in the News

The Lancaster Intelligencer Journal covered the Washington College men's basketball team's win at Franklin & Marshall last night, the Shoremen's first win in Lancaster since 1999.

The article features several quotes from senior guard Kyle Stem, who scored 24 points and drained five three-pointers in the win. Here's a snippet from the article:

“They played a lot of zone in the first half, so I was getting some open looks,” said Stem, who played at E-town College as a freshman in 2002-03. “I was really just taking what they were giving me."

Build Me Up

There may not be many students on campus the second week of January, but there's been plenty of activity. Along with our usual schedule of winter sports, athletics-related construction is currently taking place in three spots on the Washington College campus.

The front of the Lifetime Fitness Center is being renovated; the finished product will provide for a larger entrance to the building. With the actual playing field finished, work on the Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium site is continuing as the first feet of block that will eventually become the stadium building have been laid. Meanwhile, contractors are also currently busy in the parking lot near Casey Swim Center putting in the sewer line that will provide plumbing in the stadium.
