And Down The Stretch They Come

It's been a long time between blog posts as Ryan and I have both been busy with the hectic spring season. Before we knew it, this week was here - the last week of the regular season for most of our spring sports.

There's a big weekend coming up for Washington College Athletics as both tennis teams will vie for Centennial Conference Championships and the men's lacrosse team batttles Salisbury in the annual "War on the Shore" for the Charles B. Clark Cup.

The women's tennis team will be the second seed in this weekend's Centennial Conference Playoffs, hosted by top-seeded Swarthmore. The Shorewomen will play Muhlenberg in the semifinals Saturday. A win would put the Shorewomen in Sunday's championship match against either host Swarthmore or Johns Hopkins.

The men's tennis team will look to regain its Centennial Conference crown, which the Shoremen won 11 years in a row before finishing second to Johns Hopkins a year ago, as the host team of the conference playoffs. The Shoremen will play a yet-to-be-determined fourth seed (either Dickinson, Gettysburg, or Franklin & Marshall) in a Saturday semifinals. A win puts the Shoremen in Sunday's championship match against either Haverford or Johns Hopkins.

This year's "War on the Shore" moves off of the Eastern Shore and into Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium as the game is being held in conjunction with the ACC Men's and Women's Lacrosse Tournaments. The Shoremen and Sea Gulls will clash under the lights Saturday night.
