Back to the Softball Field

After Tuesday's softball double header, we headed back to the villa and the players had the opportunity to check out the area surrounding where we are staying to grab some dinner and to do some shopping. My parents flew down to Florida from Maine on Tuesday, so I spent the evening at Disney's Pleasure Island with them.

Wednesday was a full day off from softball. From what I understand, most of the players spent the day at Blizzard Beach, while three players and I went over to the Magic Kingdom for the day. We arrived at the park at 8 a.m. and stayed until it closed at 9 p.m. Everyone in my group had smiles from ear to ear the whole day. We experienced almost everything the park had to offer. We went on Splash Mountain (3 times), experienced the Haunted Mansion and the Speedway, an even rode the Aladdin ride...you name it, we did it. The only let down we had with the Magic Kingdom was that the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was shut down for construction of some sort.

We also got to experience some pretty great (but expensive) Disney food. One of the players scarfed down a large turkey leg for dinner, and we also got to enjoy Micky Mouse ice cream bars. We ended the night watching the fireworks display that the Magic Kingdom has at the end of park hours each night. The fireworks display, much like the whole day, was amazing.

But now, it's time to get back to softball. We play Otterbein at 2:20 and Kean at 4:10 this afternoon. Hopefully the Shorewomen can end the second half of this trip strong. We shall see.
