Jim Bannar pinched-hit for Kaplan and grounded out to short. Corbutt swung on the first pitch and grounded out first base to the pitcher. Huba singled to center with two away to allow Hines to hit in the inning. Hines on a check swing, hit a dribbler down the third base line and beat it out for a single and allowing Huba to reach second. DeBartolome flew out to left field to end the two-out threat. Shoremen up 6-4 and Doug Lutz to play second base for Kaplan.
