Huba led off the 7th inning for the Shoremen and reached on an infield single to the shortstop. Hines on a hit-and-run singled to right field, but Huba was thrown out at 3rd base on a perfect strike by right fielder Croft. DeBartolome reached on a two-base error by the left fielder and Hines goes to 3rd on the play. Boucher gave Washington a 5-4 lead on a double down the left field line that drove in Hines and DeBartolome. McDaniel starting pitcher Brian Rosato was pulled following the Boucher at-bat and was replaced by Jimmy Thompson. Gibbons flew out to the left fielder for the second out. Perret hit a chopper that eluded the second baseman and scoring Boucher to make it 6-4. Perret advanced to second on a passed ball. Tony Tozzolo pinched hit for Kramer and flew out to left field to end the frame.
