Colananni recorded a strike out looking Bobby Coleman to lead off the bottom of the third. The Green Terror got a one-hit single up the middle followed by another single to put 1st and 2nd with out away. Both runners advance on a wild pitch and the batter walked to load the bases. Russell Coover hit a sac fly to knot the score at 1-1. Brent Toms hit a single through the left side to give the hosts a 2-1 lead. Andrew Worm singled past a diving Hines, who got his glove on the ball, but not enough as the Green Terror scored another run to make it 3-1. Colananni was pulled for Joe Coveney. Coveney struck out his first batter he faced to end the frame.
