Boucher led off the inning with a pop out to the right fielder. Gibbons drew a walk on five pitches and advanced to third on a single that landed just fair in right field off the bat of Perret. The Shoremen executed a double steal to take a 1-0 lead. Perret advanced to third on a ground out by Kramer. Kaplan grounded out to the pitcher to end the top of the inning.
