MSOC: WC @ CUA
I'll be leaving in about an hour for today's men's soccer game at Catholic. Catholic's football field received a facelift this summer, including the installation of artificial turf, so the Cardinals' soccer games are played there now as well. So, the good news is that today's rainy weather will not hamper my blogging as I'll be high and dry up in Catholic's pressbox enjoying the blazing broadband speed my mobile card picks up in DC.
Today marks the 17th all-time meeting between Washington and Catholic in men's soccer. The Shoremen own an 8-7-1 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1952 with the Shoremen's 5-2 win over the Cardinals. The two teams last met in 2003, when they played to a 0-0 tie. The three most recent meetings prior to that game were all decided by one goal - a 2-1 overtime win for Catholic in 2002, a 1-0 win for Catholic in 2001, and a 1-0 win for Washington in 2000.
