Today's Primer

This is fifth consecutive year the Shorewomen will be playing Ursinus, with the Bears taking all four prior meetings. Ursinus was at one time a Division I field hockey program.

In 2002, Ursinus won a 4-3 shootout in Chestertown. Current assistant coach Laura Scimeca scored in the game on a penalty stroke.

2003 would be the first conference tilt between the two schools with the Bears winning 4-2 in Chestertown. Scimeca also scored in this game, scoring WC's first goal. Current senior Katie Madron made a defensive save in the tilt.

Ursinus grabbed a 2-0 victory in 2004 in Collegeville. Current senior Kristin Ward tallied a defensive save in the game.

Last season back in Chestertown, the Shorewomen fell 6-1. Current junior Rachel Miller netted WC's only goal from current sophomore Amy Spadanuta.

In the next couple of hours we will find out what the 2006 edition of this series has in order.
