Greetings from Virginia Beach
I am on the road with the women's basketball team this weekend as they will be competing in the Tyson Tip-Off Classic, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan here in Virginia Beach, VA.
We left campus at around 5:30 this evening and arrived here at the hotel at 10:30. We traveled on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel to get down here. If you are unfamiliar with the bridge, it is about 14 miles long and goes underground several times. We pulled over at a rest stop about half-way over the bridge. We all got out of our vans and walked out onto a pier. The 50 degree weather with 30-40 mph wind gusts made it an adventure to get to the end of the pier, but we eventually made it and the players got to snap some photos. Hopefully I will get a chance to post those later on this weekend.
Sleep is on the agenda for the rest of the evening before we get up for breakfast and of course, basketball.
