WC-Gettysburg FH/MSOC Primer

Tomorrow I head up for the WC-Gettysburg doubleheader in field hockey and men's soccer. It is Hall of Fame and Homecoming Weekend at Gettysburg.

Field hockey plays Gettysburg in a key Centennial Conference game at 10 am. The Bullets lead the all-time series 11-4 against the Shorewomen. Gettysburg won 1-0 last year in Chestertown and has won the last two. WC last won in 2003, when current senior Ally Simons, then a freshman, had a goal and an assist in the victory. The win capped a stretch of three out of four over the Bullets in the regular season. WC's other victory over Gettysburg came in 1994.

At 3:30 pm, men's soccer takes on Gettysburg in an important conference match. The Bullets lead the all-time series, 14-6-5. Washington College did take the inaugural meeting in 1947 by a score of 3-1. Last year, the two teams tied 2-2 in Chestertown. Josh Todd had a goal and an assist, Brian Schultz netted a goal and Jordan Lange tallied an assist. The Bullets captured the last meeting in Gettysburg in 2004, 2-1. In 2003, WC won its first game against Gettysburg since 1960, winning by the score of 1-0.

I will be back with more from Gettysburg, PA tomorrow!
